Cameron: Making up with Linz and Bolzano

After a series of three home wins, The Bears on Friday play away in Linz, and on Sunday Bolzano comes to the Ice Hall...

Medveščak scored a series of three successes on home ground. Zagreb players won maximum number of points with teams highly placed on the EBEL standings – Vienna Capitals, Innsbruck and Znojmo. The Bears climbed to the 6th place, and they expect two next duels full of self-confidence.

"I am very happy because of the way we played this home series. This only proves that we think and play seriously. The opponents now have more respect for us. With the arrival of Kevin Poulin, our defense also looks much harder and better, and I expect it to continue to be this way", the coach Connor Cameron boasted his team.

With Znojmo we saw a hard, warrior-style game, won with an excellent goal by the experienced Tomas Netik, in a powerplay situation. Unfortunately, the brilliant Check was injured in the continuation of the game, and the confident Finnish defenseman and current team's captain Harri Tikkanen was also injured. On forced sick live are also Perkovich, who has been recently operated, Puškarić with brain concussion, and Adam Deutch who is at the convalescence after a serious ankle injury.

"Injuries unfortunately happen and they are an integral part of hockey. I hope that the guys will soon recover and get back to ice, but of course, their health and safety are the most important. The same is true for other injured players. We are entering the second part of the season and I hope we will be more complete. Our goal is the play-offs, and judging by our play, I believe that we are going to succeed in this and that no one will have it easy with us", Cameron was full of faith in his team.

The Bears play their next game on Friday in Linz with "Black Wings", who had a great season so far, and are the runner-up at the standings with 30 points from 16 games, 6 more than Medveščak. In the first game of the two teams in Zagreb, Linz won 5:4 after a shootout game.

"Linz is a very serious team, especially in offensive play, they have brilliant Michael Ouzas at the goal and it will be hard to play with them away. For us this is going to be a real challenge, we are not afraid of them and we will try to win and revenge our defeat in Zagreb", Connor Cameron announced the game.

Two days after this the only Italian team in EBEL, Bolzano, is coming to the Ice Hall. This will be the first official match of the two teams in Zagreb, and the "Foxes" recently won 4:1 on their home ice. Bolzano is currently at the 10th place of EBEL league, with 19 points, five less than Medveščak.

"Bolzano is visiting on Sunday. In the first game away, we did not play well as we know and could, and we were punished for this. After these three wins, we are filled with self-confidence and I believe that we will make it up for the previous defeat, in front of our splendid supporters", Medveščak's coach concluded the next games' announcement.

Let us mention that Alexx Privitera (#18) has a suspension for one game, because of a fight with an opposing player, and will miss the game with Linz.

The match in Linz is scheduled for Friday, November 3rd, at 7.15 p.m., and the match with Bolzano is on Sunday in Zagreb, at 5.30 p.m., with the direct transmission on Croatian Television.
