The Bears achieved another home win with a great upheaval against Austrian Villach.
After the first period the guests lead 2:0 with goals by Patrick Platzer and Kyle Beach (powerplay). In the second period there were no goals, but the Bears shifted to a higher gear in the final period and had a great reason to celebrate. Mike Aviani first mitigated to 2:1, Sondre Olden (powerplay situation) equalized (2:2), and with the new goal by Aviani Medveščak had the lead 3:2 five minutes before the end.
The final score 5:2 was set with two empty net goals in the last minute, by Tero Koskiranta (4:2), and Aviani (5:2) who scored his third goal to complete the hat-trick.
Medveščak climbed to the 5th place of the EBEL league standings, with 15 points.
This was also the last game in Medveščak jersey for the goalie Drew MacIntyre. With the recovery and return to the roster of the first goaltender Krošelj, MacIntyre decided to accept an offer by Straubing (DEL). In this EBEL season MacIntyre played 4 games with 150 saves and 11 goals allowed. This was his second season in Medveščak. In the last season MacIntire guarded the Medveščak's net in KHL championship.
