For the past three seasons Mike Hedden is been a regular member of the Texas Stars.
Medvescak's roster for the 2014-15 season is getting bigger and stronger by the day. As of today, the Bears have another Canadian in their lineups who can boast about the Calder Cup: Mike Hedden.
''Mike is coming off winning the Calder Cup for the Texas Stars this season where he had a great playoff and finished as the 2nd leading scorer in the playoffs. He is a very solid two way player who plays with some real grit and plays the game the right way. He will be a great addition to our lineup and should be able to play in all situations for us. We expect him to be a solid top 9 forward for us'', said Medvescak's sports director Aaron Fox.
Mike Hedden was born in 1984 in Dunnville (Ontario, Canada). He plays left wing, and signed his first pro contract in 2009 with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye. He stayed in Toledo for two years, playing 127 games with 87 points (50 goals, 37 assists). He played his first AHL games in the 2010-11 season, three with the Gran Rapids Griffins, two with the Rochester Americans, and one for the Rockford IceHogs.
For the past three seasons he's been a regular member of the Texas Stars, the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate. He marked his debut in Texas' jersey with 69 games and 34 points (19 goals, 15 assists). The following year he played 70 games and earned 39 points (14 goals, 25 assists), and crowned the season by winning the Calder Cup with outstanding results - 92 games, 72 points.
