Take a look at how Lessio started Movember

Find out how one of the faces of Movember is fitting in with the new team and league

New forward in the Bears' Den introduced himself to the fans with a speedy game often combined with skillful yet unpredictable moves. Lucas Lessio has been making his mark in Medvescak since his first day here, both on and off the ice.

He has played in six games for the Bears so far and managed to score his first KHL goal on home ice and Medvescak's 500th KHL goal. The chemistry and understanding with his teammates, including three he already knew and has played with, has been growing as the games progressed. Off the ice, although new in the team, he was willing and ready to join another Movember in the Den.

“Before coming here I've heard Zagreb was a beautiful city and I knew the team is mostly North American, and that's important because it's easier to adjust. I wasn't expecting much, I wanted to experience it with open arms. And ever since I've been here, it's been incredible and I'm happy I made the jump over,“ Lessio said and added a bit about the team:

“I've played with with Smith last year, Bolduc two years ago and McMillan three years ago, so I knew them. But since my first game I've felt great chemistry in the team. We have a really good team, a really good group of guys and making the playoffs is within our reach, so I'm hoping for that.“

Lessio arrived in Zagreb with beard and mustache he hasn't completely shaven off in three years. But when he heard BIPA is joining the club in another Movember run, he readily accepted the challenge and let the barber's hands do the work.

“Movember is pretty big in North America, all the teams usually participate, so I was happy to do it again. It's important the leagues and clubs show they care about issues, especially health issues, outside of hockey. A lot of the guys on teams are role models and hopefully we can influence other people to do the same thing. If we can raise awareness and get people to join in, we did a big thing.”

On the experience and how he felt afterwards, he said: It felt a bit weird, for sure, but it was a good experience and for a good cause. Anytime you do something for charity or raising awareness, it's important and I'm all for that. It was a fun experience, we both were a bit nervous in the beginning,“ concluded Lessio.

How he did in the barber's chair and how the barber managed with him, see for yourself in the following video.
