Massive boost – veteran Tomas Netik joins Medvescak

After playing in the KHL, Extraliga, Swedish Hockey League and for the Czech national team, Tomas Netik joins Medvescak to conquer EBEL

Tomas Netik is a new Medvescak player. Prague-born 35-year-old Czech spent most of his career in his youth club – Sparta Praha. Zagreb fans know him from his time in the KHL when he visited the Den as part of the Slovan Bratislava team.

Netik is a winger with an impressive 422 games played in the Czech Extraliga while tallying 116 goals and 115 assists. To add to that, he has played in 80 playoff games in the Extraliga tallying 29 points and along the way winning back-to-back titles of the Czech champion – in 2006 and 2007 with Sparta.

In the Extraliga, Netik also played for Karlovy Vary, Bili Tygri Liberec and last season on loan for Ocelari Trinec (a total of nine games).

“Tomas is a very effective offensive player who should be an immediate impact player for us at this level.  He has a wealth of experience in the KHL and in the Czech Extraliga and is looking forward to this chapter of his career and is only coming here to help us win hockey games.  I have to believe he will be an immediate fan favourite with his style and passion he plays with.  We expect him to be a difference maker for sure,” Medvescak’s Sports Director Aaron Fox said about the Den's newest aquisition.

This part of his career also has fantastic numbers. He played a total of 216 games in the KHL scoring 57 goals and contributing with 41 assists. One of his goals was in the Ice Hall against Medvescak when he helped Slovan reach a 3:4 victory in overtime over the Bears.
