The end of the lockout in the NHL, the world's leading hockey league, is the reason Dustin Jeffrey won't be coming back to the Bear den after all. Unfortunately with the end of the lockout the opportunity for his return to Zagreb is no longer there, but Dustin sent a message from the U.S. to all fans and friends of Medveščak and to his now former teammates.
- Unfortunately I won't be coming back to Zagreb. I'm happy to return to my club and that this saga is finally over, but at the same time I'm really sad to leave Zagreb and the amazing fans. The atmosphere at Medveščak games is something I will remember for the rest of my life and I hope that I will have the opportunity to come back to Zagreb and Medveščak again in my career. Thank you all for your support, especially the players, coach and the team's management who do an incredible job, and a special thank you to the fans who accepted me and supported me from day one. Fans like that can only be thanked for by a few clubs in the world. I wish the club and my teammates success in the rest of the season and I'm excited for Medveščak's games that I'm sure will be in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League finals - stated Dustin Jeffrey.
