Sunday afternoon... Temperature above zero... But in and around Arena Zagreb you can feel the chill of the ice. The beauty in Laniste is frozen again! The Bears have moved from Dom Sportova to Arena Zagreb and had their first practice as the Pan Arena Ice Fever is right around the corner.
''It's a nice feeling to be back in Arena, like it is every year'', said Sasa Martinovic, who already feels at home in Arena Zagreb as this is his third season with the Bears and the Pan Arena Ice Fever.
''The first practice went really well, it was more intense, but we have to get back into shape after this short break and we have to work on our tactic because we have some strong teams coming to Arena.''
Unlike Martinovic, for Mark Dekanich and Jonathan Cheechoo, as well as several other players on the team, this is their first time setting foot in Arena, and this will be their first Pan Arena Ice Fever experience.
''We're all waiting for those games with a lot of anticipation and are looking forward to playing in front of that many people. Arena looks great, the ice is fantastic, but it's going to take a little bit of getting used to'', commented Dex, while Cheechoo added:
''I saw video clips of games from past seasons in Arena Zagreb. I loved what I saw. It was total mayhem. I'm sure that this season will be no different. The first practice went better than we thought, particularly the ice. It's going to need some more time to solidify, but it's already pretty good.''
This year's edition of the PAN Arena Ice Fever hockey spectacular will be held in December 2013 and January 2014. Arena will host five games between the biggest and most expensive hockey teams in the world (Dinamo Moskva (Dec 27th), Vityaz Podolsk (Dec 29th), Atlant Mytishchi (Jan 23rd), Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (Jan 25th), and Severstal Cherepovets (Jan 27th) along with the support of a total of 76,000 spectators!
