Patrick Bjorkstrand joined Medvescak as a 21-year-old, a young player in a club that was making its debut in the KHL. Through three years of dedicated work Bjorkstrand used his time in Medvescak in the best possible way, he developed and achieved his potential, and today he signed an NHL contract.
“Patrick is a great story. We brought him in out of the Allsvenskan League only because of the young player '92 born rule in the KHL and he earned a contract each year after. He really developed into a very strong two way player. It's great to see what we consider one of our kids, be able to use Medvescak in his development path to sign an NHL contract. We wish him all the best and hope he has a great year,” Aaron Fox, Medvescak's Sports Director said while announcing the transfer.
In three seasons that Bjorkstrand spent in Bears' jersey, he played in 170 games tallying 24 goals and 26 assists.
The entire organizational and sports team of KHL Medvescak Zagreb thanks Patrick for all of his dedication both on and off the ice, and wishes him all the best in his career.
