The Swede played one preseason game with Medvescak.
Young Swedish goalie Christian Engstrand, who joined Zagreb's club last week, will not be playing for Medvescak in the KHL after all. The club has terminated its contract with the 25-year-old goalie. Engstrand played one game for Medvescak, against KAC in Klagenfurt.
"Engstrand is an outstanding young goalie, but isn't the type of player that we need on our team right now, and that was partially evident in the game against KAC. Since it is very important that on our roster we have a large number players that we will use for a longer period, we are going to have to carefully follow that the player market. We wish Engstrand all the best and thank him for the time he spent with us", said Medvescak's sports director Aaron Fox.
Following this decision, Engstrand was not part of the coming KHL season's Medvescak player presentation in front of fans and the public this evening.
