The excellent performances produced by Medvescak and Doug Shedden continue. The Bears won their third game in a row in Chelyabinsk. This was Medvescak’s first three game win streak this season – it began with Slovan, followed by Yugra, and now Traktor. The game against Traktor ended in 2:4, and Ville Leino and Brock Trotter scored their first goals in the blue jersey.
''It's hard to win on the road, so every point you get while away is priceless. We feel great about these wins and we hope to continue this streak in the coming games, and to keep demonstrating how well we can play'', said Trotter.
The first period went by without any goals and both teams passed up a poweplay. But, at the beginning of the second period, the Bears only took three minutes to ruin the home team's dreams and ripped three points away from their reach. First Matt Anderson rattled goalie Michael Garnett's net with a powerful slapshot from several meters away in the 24th minute, followed 12 seconds later by Ville Leino's first goal in the Bears' jersey. Traktor's net barely cooled off before Brock Trotter landed another shot in the 28th.
''It's nice to score and help the team out, but what's most important is that we won and that we keep building more wins on this one'', commented Leino.
In the 35th minute the home team scored a goal (Stanislav Chistov), but that didn't phase Medvescak's players, who were back to a three point lead in the 48th minute thanks to Martin St. Pierre. The final 2:4 was set by Penkovski in the 53rd minute.
