Medvescak's forward Marek Kvapil decided to continue his career in another club of the KHL.
„Marek received a very good offer for the rest of the season and asked if we could move forward and allow the transfer in accordance with his contract. Its one of those tough situations where you have to respect his wishes and contract obligations, but also if you don't let him go, you wonder how he will play the rest of the season for us when he's unhappy and you take that kind of opportunity away from him.
Obviously Marek is a great player and he will be missed in our lineup. We will really need a couple guys to step up and fill his role. I think we have the right character in the dressing room and the guys will be ready to compete and hopefully have a strong finish to the season,“ said Aaron Fox, Medvescak's sports director while announcing the trade.
KHL MEDVESCAK Zagreb wants to thank Kvapil for all the effort he put forth and everything he has done for the Club and wish him the best of luck with his career. Kvapil played 41 games for Medvescak in which he scored 10 goals. He will continue the season in Russian city of Nizhnekamsk, for the Neftekhimik team.
