The Bears have gotten a feel for away games lately. In December 2013, and now in January 2014, they haven't left a KHL city empty-handed, except maybe one. At the start of December they shined in eastern Russia - against Metallurg Novokuznetsk, Sibir, Admiral, while things were left to fortune in Habarovsk, with Amur then winning the shootout. They kicked off their round of January away games with a victory against Spartak, followed by a point from Avangard, and then on Thursday they bared their teeth at Barys. One could almost say, 'The further away the opponents' city and the bigger the time difference, the better the Bears'.
''(smile) It just happened that way. We needed some time to get used to some of the new things that came along with the KHL, the trips, time differences... but somehow we've managed to get above that. A big part of it is the shape the team's in, just how physically and mentally prepared for this we are. We've done a great job so fat, but it's not over yet'', said Sasa Martinovic.
Yugra will be Medvescak's second-last test on the road in January (saturday, 12:00 AM). Their first faceoff in Dom Sportova ended in a 2:1 win for the Bears.
''Last time we beat them, but it was close. So we have a good team that's been doing really well lately waiting for us, and on top of that they're going to have the advantage of home ice. We're going to have to repeat the type of game we played in Astana. We're going to have to stick to our plan because that's the only way we can be dangerous.''
