Medvescak's 'pink jerseys' among 3 most socially responsible campaigns
KHL Medvescak Zagreb’s mailbox received a big letter of recognition from the Croatian Public Relations Association (HUOJ). KHL Medvescak Zagreb has made it into the finals of the 8th annual HUOJ Grand Prix prize, and is among the top 3 most socially conscious enterprises in Croatia. Croatia’s most decorated ice hockey team secured its spot in the finals with its educational sports campaign ‘Pink October’, organized with club partner Podravka, and the pink jerseys the Bears played a KHL game in. 
Medvescak and Podravka’s campaign wanted to demonstrate above all that taking care of one’s health and lending support to those battling serious illnesses neither begin nor end with (Pink) October, but are rather required 365 days of the year. As well, this campaign marked the first time in the club’s history that the colour of its jersey was changed from its traditional blue to the pink ones the players wore in a KHL game, and with that game’s initial puck drop began an online charity auction of the 27 jerseys Zagreb’s Bears wore that night. The auction lasted 10 days and raised a total of 89,193 HRK for the charity organization ‘All for Her!’.

That is incredible recognition for the work that we do solely to encourage positive changes in our society for our fans and together with our fans and partners. Of course, our Pink campaign neither begins nor ends with this recognition, but lasts 365 days a year, and our female fans can always count on our support'', said Medvescak’s director of communications and the club president’s advisor on social consciousness Ranko Vucinic. 
This year HUOJ received a record number of 52 applicants for the award, and after the first round of judging, the jury picked 26 communications projects in accordance with rule criteria and placed them in 7 categories: public sector, socially conscious enterprises, big companies, small and medium companies, internal communications, digital communications, and relevance to global campaign. Along with Medvescak in the socially conscious category finals are the projects ‘Moje sunce za Gunju, INA – Gas Industry d.d.’, and ’20 IMAM(O) zicu!, Croatian Hydro Industry d.d.’.
All finalists in the HUOJ Grand Prix award can be seen at www.huoj.hr. Winners of the HUOJ Grand Prix award will be announced in Zagreb on March 13th.
