Sunday is definitely a winning day for the Bears. Last Sunday they defeated Severstal in the Ice Hall of Dom Sportova, and this week they beat Lada from Togliatti with an impressive 5:1. That counted Medvescak's 30th victory in the KHL.
The first 20 minutes of the game were mostly played in the opponents' end, with the shots on goal ratio at 15:7 in Medvescak's favour. The pressure the Bears put on Lada's end paid off in the 9th minute when Aleksander Sharov was out for a two-minute penalty. Twenty-seven seconds after Sharov sat in the penalty box, Andrew Hutchison made his second goal of the season.
''We had a good day. We played like a team and stuck to our game plan, which was key. We controlled the puck and created several opportunities. Now we have a tough schedule ahead of us. We have an away game against Slovan, and then two at home against SKA. But I think we lived up to the task, we just have to play like we did in this game and I think we'll make it'', said Nathan Perkovich.
The second period opened with a quick goal from the away team (Jiri Hunkes), but from the 44th minute on, the Bears were fired up and rattled Glass' net four more times - Matt Anderson, Martin St. Pierre, James Wright (penalty shot), and Nathan Perkovich.
