The sixth annual KHL Junior Draft was held on Thursday in St. Petersburg. KHL Medvescak Zagreb, who were represented by director of hockey operations Markoantonio Belinic and head of KHL relations Gennadi Gorbacev, drafted four players: Connor McDavid, Roman Shodcev, Jesse Gabrielle, and Felix Sandström.
"This year the draft was a lot more interesting than the last, because after our experience in the premiere season we've learned a lot about the KHL and how it functions'', said director of hockey operations Markoantonio Belinic, adding:
"We made a study of each of the players, and based on that study and the return information from agents and scouts, we came to the decision to pick these players. I think that over the next year or two some of the selected players will join Medvescak."
Connor McDavid is a Canadian forward born in 1997. He plays center and is part of Canada's junior team. For the past two season's he played for the Erie Otters in the OHL juniors, and scored 184 points in 133 games. 
Roman Shodcev is a young potential player, born in 1997. He plays defence and comes from the Russian school of hockey from Moscow's team RUS. In 26 games this season he has scored 3 goals and made 12 assists with 21 penalty minutes. 
Jesse Gabrielle is a Canadian forward born in 1997, and plays left wing. In the 2013-14 season he played 58 games for the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL earning 32 points, and also played for Team Canada at the WH-17 international tournament. 
Swedish goalie Felix Sandström was born in 1997, and is 187 cm tall. He's been the goalie for the Brynas juniors since 2011-12, first in the U16, and now in the J18 and J20. In the 2012-13 season he was the goalie with the highest save average in the J18 Elit (94.9%), and in that same season he won the gold medal in the J18 Allsvenskan. Sandstrom is also part of Team Sweden's juniors.
