Montador retires from playing hockey and leaves for recovery

The recovery will take place in Montador’s home in Canada.

Because of injury and necessary recovery Steve Montador will for a while
retire from his playing career.

''This morning, the club and Montador have, after brief consultations with medical team, decided that the player will retire for some time due to the health issues. Namely, because of the injury in one of the home games, Montador has not been feeling well recently. Considering his previous serious injury, medical team’s recommendation and Montador’s decision resulted with an agreement on necessary recovery. The recovery will take place in Montador’s home in Canada'', said the club’s chief spokesman Ranko Vučinić and added:

''The club and Montador have agreed to ''freeze'' player’s contract since Montador hasn’t decided yet about his future career. Due to a possible long recovery this way an empty space has been created on a team roster. If Montador decides to continue his playing career in Medveščak, club’s doors will be open to him. Empty space on team roster  will not be filled in immediately. Nevertheless, our management will consider any possible offers.”

Player will, in agreement with a club and doctors immediately stop with his trainings and demanding sport activities.

Club and the player ask their fans to respect player’s need for recovery.
