Murray: We made better decision than in the last game

After three days, the Bears beat Olimpija again by scoring on them six times.

As expected, the Bears beat Olimipija again, winning their third preseason game. Prep game three ended in 1:6.

Mark Dekanich was on Medveščak’s net for the first half, while the Bears’ net was entrusted to 20-year-old Mitja Koren. Medveščak's players didn't let their opponents into their zone very much again, and there was again more action in front of Olimpija's net.

''This was my first game in the past four or five months and I felt really good. It’s a good feeling to play under pressure and to feel a physical game. So far I've had one whole practice and two short ones with the team, and some warm-ups just before the game'', said Kurtis Foster, the defenseman who joined the Bears this week and played in Medveščak's jersey for the first time, adding:

''The boys did a good job. They tried hard and we scored a lot of goals. We had a lot of good opportunities to score, good shots on goal, and if we continue like that, if we are going to be tight, good things will happen.''

The Bears secured the lead in minute 14 with a shot from Patrick Bjorkstrand. Bill Thomas tried to rattle Olimpjia's net from the right side, but it was Patrick Bjorkstrand who wound up getting the puck in their opponent's net. In the second period Zagreb's boys continued to add pressure on Olimpija, and the slaughter came between minutes 33 and 40. In minute 33 Boyd Kane scored, followed a minute later by consecutive goals from Charles Linglet and Andrew Murray just seconds apart, while in minute 40 Bjorkstrand took the point difference to +5.

''We played a lot better than we did last time against them. The construction of the game was better, we had extended subs, we were more capable in the offensive zone and we made the most out of the opportunities that came up, and we were also better rested than we were in the last game. We did what we wanted to do, and that was to play the full 60 minutes. However, in any case, we have to congratulate Olimpija's players too because they put up a good fight'', commented Murray.

In the final period the Bears  scored one more time thanks to Saša Martinović in minute 52, while Olimpija scored their only goal during a powerplay in minute 53 (Pascal Morency).

''We played well. We created a lot of opportunities and we scored six goals, even though there could have been more. We started the preseason well, three games, three wins. Our team is slowly starting to take shape, but we have to continue working on ourselves'', said Kane.
