In search of a new goalie, Medvescak found the 31-year old Swede Joakim Lundström. Born in Gävle he started his hockey career with local Brynäs IF J20 team, and through his junior years he was a part of the Swedish national team for international competitions and World Junior Championships.
“Joakim is a veteran goalie who has played at in all the top leagues in Europe. He also has KHL experience and knows what to expect at this level.
He's coming in to give us another reliable option and to strengthen our depth at the goalie position,“ Aaron Fox, Medvescak's sports manager said.
Lundström joins Gasper Kroselj and Danny Taylor as part of Medvescak's goalkeeper team and with the experience of playing in European top leagues he will bring quality and the increase of competitiveness. He spent most of his career in the SHL where also he played last year for HC Leksands IF. In the KHL he defended Admiral Vladivostok's net in 2013/14 season before he moved on to HIFK in the Liiga.
