Medvescak's defence is getting stronger by the day. As well as Andrew Hutchinson, who has a Stanley Cup and a Calder Cup under his belt, defenseman Shaone Morrisonn, who's played 507 NHL games, will also be joining the Bear Den.
''Morrisonn, like Hutinshon, is a very good defenseman who will bring us stability and experience. He has also played in the KHL and we're going to benefit from his experience, but from the NHL and the KHL. I think that he's going to be the basis of our defence next season along with the other defence players we have like Hutchinson'', said Medvescak's director of athletics Aaron Fox.
Shaone Morrisonn was born in 1982 in Vancouver (B.C., Canada). At the 2001 NHL draft he was in the Boston Bruins' first round of selections (19th pick), and by the 2002-03 season he debuted with the Bruins in the NHL. As well as Boston, Morrisonn has played for the Washington Capitals, with whom he was a standard member for five years, and also the Buffalo Sabres. In 2012 he decided to move across the ocean to the KHL. The destination was Moscow, and the clubs were Spartak and CSKA. He played 46 games with Spartak in 2012-13, and 9 with CSKA. Last season he wore Finnish A-league team TPS' jersey.
Throughout his professional career, Morrisonn has accrued 507 games (77 points) in the NHL, 55 games (8 points) in the KHL, and 239 games (62 points) in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, Portland Pirates, and Rochester Americans, as well as 54 games (16points) in the Finnish Liiga.
