The first three away points this season, two wins in a row... The Bears' game in Slovnaft Arena against Slovan couldn't have gone better than the 1:4 score. Outstanding players from the game include goalie Barry Brust, who hid the net from Slovan's players like a bird with its wings after their 1:0 lead in the 21st minute, as well as forward Brandon Segal who's magic stick wrecked Slovan's net two times.
''That's just the result of hard work. When we're on the ice, we always try to give our all for the team. But, it wasn't just me who earned these goals. It was also my teammates on the team and in my line. Pellettier and St. Pierre played incredibly. There was a special chemistry between us. We always talk about how we have to get better with each game, talk about the game, and how to set ourselves up in any situation. Improvement is evident, but there is still a lot of room to get better'', said Segal.
The win in Bratislava will barely have time to sink in before the Bears take on the Eagles again on Friday (6:30PM), this time in Zagreb at the Dom Sportova.
''Even though they're now at five losses in a row, Slovan is a great team, and they just changed their coach. I'm sure that they're going to want to make up for lost points on home ice in Dom Sportova, and they're going to try and set their tempo and play at full strength. But, our advantage is that we're playing at home, in front of our fans. It's up to us to play at a high level and to spend as little time as we can in the penalty box'', said Segal.
