The club has not extended the Canadian forward's contract.
Anthony Stewart, who joined Medvescak on a tryout period, will not continue the season in Zagreb's club. The club has not extended the Canadian forward's contract. Stewart played 12 games with Medvescak and got one goal and one assist.
''We decided not to accept the terms offered in Anthony Stewart's contract. Stewart was with the club for a tryout period during which he worked hard and played some good games. But considering Ville Leino's arrival and the number of forwards that already have contracts, this was the only possible solution for our club. We wish Stewart the best in his future career'', briefly said Medvescak's sports director Aaron Fox.
Stewart will leave the club today and won't play in the game against Slovan, while the club begins searching for a new defensive player.
''We're on the lookout for a new defenseman. I hope that we will have one as soon as possible, definitely before the next road trip. It won't be a big name like Ville Leino, but he'll certainly be a respectable and useful player'', announced a clearly optimistic Aaron Fox.
