The Bears in Europe's Top 20 most attended clubs again

Medvescak is the 16th most attended European club, with an average of 7,828 spectators at each home game.

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has again, just as last year, announced the statistical information about club attendance in Europe during the regular season. Amongst the Top 20 clubs with the highest average attendance at home games were once again KHL Medvescak Zagreb. Medvescak is the 16th most attended European club, with an average of 7,828 spectators at each home game in the 2013-14 season, which is around 90.38% of capacity. First place is still held, for the 13th year in a row, by Swiss A-leaguers SC Bern with an average of 16,347 spectators (95.42%). The most attended team in the Kontinental Hokey League, which Medvescak has been a member of since 2013-14, is SKA St. Petersburg with an average of 12,133 spectators at their home games (97.06%), landing them in 3rd place on the IIHF's ranking.

Aside from KHL Medvescak and SKA, another 6 KHL teams made it into the Top 20 most attended European clubs: Dinamo Minsk (6th place), Slovan Bratislava (7th place), Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl 12th place), Dinamo Riga (13th place), Avangard Omsk (15th place), and Salavat Yulaev (18th place). Out of all of the KHL teams in this year's Top 20, Medvescak has the smallest arena with a capacity of 6,5000 seats. SKA, Dinamo Minsk, Dinamo Riga, Slovan Bratislava, and Avangard Omsk seat over 10,000, while Lokomotiv accommodate slightly less at 9,000 and Salavat at 7,950. Medvescak's arena is smaller in comparison to the other Top 20 European teams as well. Some have double the capacity of Medvescak's stadium, such as for example Eidbaren Berlin with 14,500 seats, Adler Mannheim with 13,600, Prague's Sparta with 13,150, and some have nearly three times the capacity: Kolner Haie with 18,500 seats, and SC Bern with 17,131 seats...
