The Bears played another tough game against Dinamo from Minsk in which they wanted to get three points and take revenge for the loss in Zagreb. However, the game in the Minsk Arena ended with a 4:3 victory for the home team.
In the first ten minutes neither team realized their opportunities, but then in the 11th minute things changed. Dinamo had a powerplay and Matt Ellison used it to make it 1:0.
''We held it together all the way until the end of the game. Even though we were three points behind, we came back and nearly tied it. Maybe the game would have been different had we played with more discipline, but sometimes these things happen, sometimes you can't avoid penalties. In any case, I think we can derive a lot of positive things from this game'', commented Krys Kolanos.
In the 25th minute Dinamo got two goals ahead thanks to Ryan Vesce, but just two minutes later the Bears reduced it to 2:1. Kolanos took a shot toward goalie Danny Taylor, but Taylor deflected the puck toward James Wright who slipped it into the net.
''For my two goals in my debut, and for how I played overall, I owe a lot to my teammates, particularly my linemates. Since I arrived in the club they've been talking to me a lot and trying to help me as much as they can. That definitely helped me adjust to the club'', said Kolanos.
In the final period Dinamo's players laid on two goals (Ellison, Linglet), and then in the last 8 minutes the Bears got close to tying the game. First in the 53rd Mark Flood made it 4:2, and then 55 seconds before time was up Kolanos used an assist to get his first goal in the Medvescak jersey, but the points remained in Minsk.
