There are just a couple of days left until the most important part of the season - the KHL playoffs. The Bears secured the conference playoff in late January and are currently in 6th place in the Western conference, two points ahead of CSKA and 5 points behind Dinamo Riga and Donbas. They still don't know who their opponents will be in the quarterfinals nor whether they will play the first two games on home or away ice. Their opponents and game destination will be determined in the remaining two games of the regular season.
The Bears lost one and won one of their last two away games. They lost 5:1 to Dinamo in Riga, and beat CSKA 1:3 in Moscow for their second win against them this season.
''We played a good game in Moscow, and Dekanich did a really great job too. We're in good shape and feel great. We're ready for the playoffs'', said Ryan Vesce.
The Bears will go up against the West's third-placed team Lev on Sunday at 5:00 PM in Prague's Tipsport Arena, which has a capacity of 13150 spectators. Their first game against the Lions was played at the start of the season in Dom Sportova, and the score was 1:3. Lev are currently on a seven home game win streak, but Medvescak currently stand better in powerplay and penalty killing situations than Prague's players.
''I think this is going to be the most challenging game of these four remaining road games, but it's also going to be an interesting one. Lev play really well and they aren't in third place for no reason. This is going to be a big challenge for us'', concluded Vesce.
