Medvescak's January road games are coming to an end. They have only one opponent left: Avtomobilist, who they will go eye to eye against (Monday, 2 PM) before returning to Zagreb for their final three games before the they go on break for the Winter Olympics. The Bears landed in Yekaterinburg with seven new points from the past week; one from Omsk, and three from Astana and Khanty-Mansiysk each. Their win in Khanty briefly put them in 6th place in the West before Dinamo Riga retook it by defeating Amur.
''That's how it goes when you have just one point more or less. We have four important games ahead of us before the break, this one against Avtomobilist and then three at home. We're going to have to be at our best and give it our all because we a big job ahead of us'', said forward Ryan Vesce.
It's been a while since the Bears faced off against Avtomobilist. Last time they escorted them out of Dom Sportova with a wicked 3:0 back in late September 2013. The team from Yekaterinburg is currently in 6th place in the East, and throughout the season they've worked on their image as a team that's good at penalty kills (fourth in the league).
''I hope their penalty kill doesn't pose a problem for us. They only lost one game in December and two in January. They play good hockey and are ranked well so we have a tough game ahead of us, but I believe in our team and I hope we come back home with our hands full.''
